International Beach Clean Up Programme

The International Beach Clean Up Programme was launched last year by P1 Marine Foundation using Powerboat P1 race events as a platform to raise awareness.

This year P1 Marine Foundation will be staging beach clean up events around the UK and in Florida with the first event starting in Bournemouth, UK on Saturday 21st May. Other UK locations will include Cardiff and Torquay, and across the Atlantic in Tampa and Cocoa Beach.

Last year P1 Marine Foundation staged beach clean-ups in a number of UK locations, including Plymouth and Torquay, and in Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach in Florida. The Foundation partnered with local organisations such as Plymouth’s National Marine Aquarium, Torquay’s Living Coasts, Working Links and Keep Brevard Beautiful to promote the programme and increase participation.

Litter on the beaches harms wildlife mainly through entanglement and ingestion, and affects coastal communities by contamination and health hazards. Participants can make a huge difference by minimising waste on the beach and educating others of its negative impacts.

If you would like to get involved at any of these locations please visit our website page for more information:

We hope to see you at one of our events.
