P1 Marine Foundation boat celebrates first race victory

11th August: The P1 Marine Foundation race team of James Norvill and Christian Parsons-Young drove superbly in the opening P1 SuperStock race in Torquay yesterday to notch up their first win in the national powerboat championship.

Norvill and Parsons-Young start today's three-race programme in Tor Bay in joint second place in the P1 SuperStock UK championship as they chase the American duo of Andy Biddle and Tracy Blumenstein who lead the series after consistent performances in Hull, Plymouth and on the opening day in Torquay.

Welsh man James also pilots the Foundation's boat in the SuperStock series in the United States and will be flying to Orlando later this week to compete at Port Canaveral on Florida's Space Coast.

In addition to supporting their race team, P1 Marine Foundation held a beach clean up with the Living Coasts charity and staged creative activities for local youngsters aimed at increasing awareness and knowledge of our oceans.
