World Oceans Day - Short Film Awards Launch

We are marking World Oceans Day (8th June) by launching our Short Film Awards.

World Oceans Day is celebrated around the world to highlight the threats to our seas and, through a variety of events, encourage involvement and action to protect our oceans. For more information go to .

The oceans cover 71 per cent of the world. They generate most of the oxygen we breathe, help to regulate our climate, and provide us with food. They are our most important resource and we need to work together to protect them.

Our Short Film Awards give you the chance to add your voice as we seek to make a difference and help to change behaviour.

To enter, send us a film of no more than 1 minute in length to show how you will help to protect your marine or coastal environment. Entries should be as imaginative as possible and you don’t need to live near the coast.

All entries will be added to our P1 Marine Foundation YouTube channel. The video with the most ‘likes’ will become our winner and used in our promotional activity.

Deadline for entries is Sunday 30th June.

All entries should be sent to If files are larger than 8MB please send via .
