National Student Awards 2012 Update

Entries for the National Student Awards, a scheme devised by the Foundation that recognise university students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels who present outstanding work that will have a positive and sustainable impact on the marine environment, have now closed and the Awards Ceremony will take place in London at the end of September.

The judging process will take place in August with the following judges on the Awards panel:

• Paul Holthus, Founding Executive Director at World Ocean Council
Pauls experience ranges from working with the global industry associations or directors of UN agencies to working with fishers in small island villages

• Dr Trevor Dixon, Marine Pollution Specialist at Advisory Committee on the Protection of the Sea
Specialist Adviser to the P1 Marine Foundation and formerly Senior Lecturer in Corporate Environmental Management, Buckinghamshire New University

• Kirsty Schneeberger, Senior Policy Officer for Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future
Kirsty has as an MBE for services to environmental conservation and recently coordinated the Department of Energy and Climate Change's Youth Advisory Panel
